Darrius Carter, LCSW

Program Director

Legal Name: Darrius Xavier Carter

Licensed Clinical Social Worker #118405

I am a trauma-informed Mindfulness therapist who believes that a balanced mindset will help to empower, uplift clarity, and motivate success and happiness. I have experience working with adolescents and young adults from communities of color who have complex life issues. I do also welcome partnerships with adults who want to build wellbeing practices. My working style gives clients a safe space to find authentic expression about their life's struggles and build healthy solutions that produce positive perspective and empowerment.

I am happy to support couples with premarital and polyamorous agreements. For couples and families, I host collaborations that cultivate insight, develop open-hearted dialogue, and increases relational harmony. I help clients overcome limiting beliefs, resolve obstacles that derail their collaboration, and elevate mutual strengths, joy, and potential for deep connection. I coach from a firm embrace of ethical and cultural boundaries for conscious coupling.

I chose to become a mental health professional because I want to make a positive and productive difference in the lives of others. I also want to become a bridge to more frequent, comfortable, and helpful conversations about mental health within communities of color. I choose to practice at growURpotential where there is cultural diversity, representation, and an environment promoting therapists to be authentic.

We are a nonprofit community counseling agency, committed to expanding access to supportive services. With compassion, collaboration, and respect we provide affordable mental health care including programs that strengthen adults, youth, families, and communities.

We believe mental health care is a right, not a privilege. By providing affordable mental health services and effective community programs we increase access and utilization of supportive services that contribute to improved adult, youth, and family functioning. We are certain this will lead to fortified communities in Los Angeles.

We are sincerely grateful to Our Board Members for their support and invaluable guidance.
